can c++ be used to develop Blackberry applications?

Question by engieerbrains: can c++ be used to develop Blackberry applications?
I have learned basic c++ and I want to start to develop BB applications, but I understand they are written in Java. Is there a way for me to write a personal BB application in c++? and if not how should i get started developing applications in Java for BB? what programs... tutorials... ect.
