Blackberry Pearl battery life?

I got a shiny red Blackberry Pearl a little less than a month ago, and need to know if this is common or if it's just my phone. The battery dies nearly every day.

I'll put it on the charger before I go to sleep to let it sit there overnight, though I notice that when it's charged, the "plugged in" symbol disappears. It'll be fully charged (or, the battery life symbol will be full) when I get up in the morning, but by 1pm it's halfway
